Model: Tara-Natural Beauty

I am currently writing a trend story on the increasing frequency of plus size models in magazines and advertisements, which should be completed by Tuesday.  While writing the story I studied numerous fashion spreads from magazines like Vogue, Elle, and Cosmopolitan.  While I think it is awesome that such popular magazines are following (Glamour was the magazine that started the trend back in 2009) the photos are still retouched to the extreme.  With this in mind, I decided to do my own "plus size" photo shoot with my good friend Tara.

These photos were shot in the studio, and minimal retouching was done to each photo.

My retouching included: evening of skin tone, dodging and burning, color actions, and a portraiture filter.

Tara, thank you for allowing me to share these images with the internet.  Maybe this will help inspire less retouching, and more natural beauty in the future.
