Model: Cassie Film Noir

Yesterday I did a shoot with my photographer friend Leigh, who had to do a Film Noir style portrait for a photography class. I set up lighting and we took turns shooting with one of my favorite models, Cassie (If you've been watching my photography, I've used her quite a bit!) Over all I think the shoot went very well, and I know Leigh is going to get an amazing grade!

Here we shot through a set of blinds that hang out in the photo studio. I did this lighting on accident after trying to do it purposely for about 45 minutes, giving up, and moving them off the backdrop. I'm glad I got it to work eventually!

The cigarette is just a rolled up piece of paper, the burnt end and smoke were added in later. Her shadow is stretched near her hand as I tilted the retouch to the left, as to keep her more in the frame of the photo. Dodging, burning, and the usual.
