52: Week 12

Hello week 12! This was probably one of my easiest shoots ever. I knew exactly what I wanted: from the model, to the styling, the lighting, the poses, right down to the post processing.

Once we really got rolling this shoot was really easy, and through it all, there was only one problem: Britta was just too nice to look mean!

So, by using the liquify tool, I was able to sculpt Britta's expression to one of anger instead of sweetness, here is before and after:

Britta, thank you for being so awesome. You modeled so well, holding my awkward poses and putting up with my camera troubles, working with you was so much fun!

Model: Britta

This wonderful model is Britta. Britta modeled four outfits for me with the intention of doing a faux four page magazine fashion spread. This is outfit one and two, for outfits three and four, go check out this weeks 52 photo!

Graphic Design: TB Vamp

I some how never uploaded this! This is the final advertisement from my shoot with Cassie back from first semester. The products were created in Modo, a program that creates 3D rendering. The glass lid was difficult, but worth it!

This is the original vector design I did over Christmas break last year:

Models: Kate & Jenna

Here are two of my favorite models, Kate and Jenna! This shoot was my first attempt at a fashion editorial spread, which included four outfits and location changes. I definitely can improve, coming up with so many poses for two models is difficult!

Kate, Jenna, thank you so much for modeling for me. You guys rocked it!

Model: Thea cover

Here are the top three picks for the cover, with the current cover design at the bottom.

I don't have all my articles planned yet, so some
headlines are just to take up space!

Model: Thea

These photos were taken for the main article and cover of my portfolio/faux magazine. I interviewed Thea as a model and these photos will go along side the interview. It was really nice to get to talk to Thea other than just to give her directions (which she rarely needed). As always, it was a pleasure to work with her, and I love that I'm getting to see her grow as a model. One day I'm sure I'll have to fly her from New York in order to work with her! That is if she can fit me.

Thea, thank you for working with me so much this summer, and I still look forward to working with you even more!
Which photo do you think belongs on the cover?

Model: Margo

Meet Margo! Margo is the older sister of David, my first senior portrait for this season. Margo and David used to live right across the street, but have been living in Florida for the past four years. This is Margo's first time modeling for me (other than her own senior portraits) and she totally rocked it. The shoot is for another advertisement for my magazine.

Blue Vodka

Another ad for my portfolio.
I photographed the bottle and the glass together, but I decided There was too much ice. So I rephotographed crushed ice, and placed the bottle and glass onto the new bass, duplicating ice cubes where I thought it looked empty. For the splash in the glass, I found a stock photo of the splash, and using the screen blending mode, I was able to more easily place the splash into the glass. I then designed the logo in photoshop, and added the text as a finishing touch.

Thea

Almost all of my fun shoots this summer will be dedicated to my portfolio. I'm planning on writing two magazines, one for men, and one for women. I'm then going to design the magazine, the advertisements, shoot all the photographs, and write all the articles. This photo shoot with Thea is the beginning.

The modeled for me at 10 at night on the beach of Iverson in a wedding dress, with teen boys skinny dipping in the water and the park police coming to investigate. It was a pretty safe adventure, compared to what Iverson has been.

I want to thank Thea for modeling for me (amazingly well I might add) and a special thanks to Andrew. Thank you for being our body guard, my flash assistant, my light, my advice giver, and thanks for the loan of your shirt. My flash appreciated not having to touch the sand.

And here is the practice ad.
